The environment of the
open cast mining area in Lower Silesia has neither local nor historic
significance, but solely current value. These circumstances are symptomatic
of the essence of our economic order, for the capitalist reconstruction
of the German economy. Today it’s Lower Silesia – tomorrow
the Ruhr; no rescue’s in sight, there are no borders, no limits.

from Volks-Film-Verbandes by Willi Bredel in: Hamburger Volkszeitung,
4. April 1929) |
